Merry Christmas

Here's a shepherds pie recipe for u lovely folks
1Joey Valence and Brae
No Hands

Peel and cut 4 pounds of yukon gold potatoes into medium chunks. Place into cold pot of water and bring to boil while you commence rest of cooking.
2Meshuggah
Nothing

In a healthy pat of butter brown 5 finely diced carrots, 3 stalks of celery, 1 small yellow onion and 5 medium cloves of garlic. Add the garlic during the last minute of cooking process to avoid burning with rest of veg
3Asunojokei
Island

When that is browned and the veggies are tender add 3 pounds of ground beef (80/20) but if you have the finances for ground lamb that is probably better. Season liberally with salt and pepper and a good amount of sage, rosemary, a more cautious amount of dill, and caraway seed. Save small amount of celery leaves and chop them to be added towards the end of beef cooking process.
4LoveHateHero
White Lies

Once beef is finished cooking and some fond (that brown meaty goodness that meat sticks the pot with) has developed deglaze with a deep flavored red wine of your choosing. For me it's Apothic dark red. Roughly a quarter cup should do. Add an equal portion of chicken stock. Thicken with flour until it resembles a stew-like slurry.
5The Saddest Landscape
You Will Not Survive

Prep oven to 375 degrees. By now taters should be cooked, drain and mash them along with a stick and a half of butter and either a quarter cup of milk or roughly half that amount of cream. Season liberally with salt and lightly with white pepper (avoid speckling that beautiful top and provides a earthier flavor than black pepper). Combine mixture along with 2 egg yolks to achieve golden crust later (optional).
6Left Behind
Blessed by the Burn

Mix beef mixture with one can of corn and peas. Commence layering in a relatively deep casserole dish. First beef veggie slurry, then mashed taters. Shred desired amount of sharp cheddar on top (Cracker Barrel cheddar cheese is a wonderful albeit slightly pricey go to, aged reserve is best for optimal sharpness). Baked until top is golden.
