Kingdok 01.19.25	Nice, even more to check. As a noob to dm, wondering what the diference is (if any) between brutal death and deathgrind. Seen lots of bands tagged as both in different places.
cylinder 01.19.25	Deathgrind contains an element of grindcore, whereas bdm usually doesn't. So in deathgrind the blasting is a lot more frequent/leaned on. Sometimes the vocals are a bit punkier too, which is common in grindcore Another thing is that bdm is usually a lot more focused on the riffs and compositions. While there is some techier deathgrind out there, it's usually more of a visceral exercise. Usually I think of deathgrind as basically grindcore but with slightly more dm-styled riffs and sometimes more dm-styled vocals.

Futures 01.19.25	yeah deathgrind is usually just way faster, bdm has tons of tempo changes and slow parts with the slam parts. 3 is a great example of deathgrind, incredible album.

cylinder 01.19.25	a lot of the bdm and slam i've been jammin lately has been out of this modern wave, psyched to hear some of these older ones, back from when the aesthetic wasn't so homogenized yet lol
Hawks 01.19.25	I've been very much getting into more slam stuff and when done right it rips so hard. I love the oldschool dm classics but man bdm hits all the right spots for me. So many albums to explore too.

jrlikestodance 01.19.25	Cryptopsy and Suffocation were always two of my fav DM bands but beyond that I really misunderstood the genre. Deeds of Flesh and Defeated Sanity completely changed the way I looked at it. They're very technical bands but not in a show-offy way that compromises the songwriting
Hawks 01.19.25	Defeated Sanity is 100% the band that really solidified my love for the genre. Like you said Jr, Suffo and Cryptopsy have always been 2 of my favs but Defeated Sanity really made me wanna explore the depths of the whole genre. This style just resonates with me so much more than normal dm.
