Some metal gathered from a recent iTunes binge. | 1 | Extol
Renewal and Ember are such awesome songs. | 2 | Indwelling
Good stuff. | 3 | Sacrificium
Yeah, most (if not all) of these are Christian bands. Sorry ahead of time if you cannot get past that, it's really no excuse for passing up good music. | 4 | Immortal Souls | 5 | Sympathy | 6 | Crimson Moonlight | 7 | Meshuggah
I love "War" | 8 | Torn In Two | 9 | Tourniquet
Liked these guys for a while, just now getting in to the earlier stuff, pretty damn good. | 10 | Mortification
I think "Scrolls of the Megilloth" is a classic Death Metal album. | |

10.30.09 | 1, 3, 4 yay!!! | Emim
10.30.09 | Gotta love Extol. | Masochist
10.30.09 | Wow, haven't heard the name Extol mentioned in a LONG while, props! | accompliceofmydeath
10.30.09 | I was thinking that this was going to have like Korn and Limp Bizkit and stuff. lol...nu metal. | Emim
10.30.09 | ^That's what I was going for, ha ha most of this is Death though. | ninjacat11
10.30.09 | I can't vouch for the rest of this list, but I love the hell out of 7. | Inveigh
10.30.09 | I haven't listened to Extol in YEARS. They were one of my first experiences with death metal when I was a mere teenager.
I haven't heard much of the rest of these, save for 7 and 9. 7 is pretty sweet and they deserve all the respect they get, but I just don't understand the overwhelming love for Tourniquet. I always found them to be rather bland and uninspiring for thrash/death; I always just thought they were semi-popular because there weren't a lot of bands doing that in Christian metal and Tourniquet (along with Extol and Living Sacrifice) were pretty much the only option for Christian kids in the 90s. | Emim
10.30.09 | Well, Tourniquet never has been Death, just Thrash (most of the time at least). The main reason I like them is for Ted, being a drummer myself I really appreciate what he does.
Yeah, Meshuggah is pretty cool, I love Dancers to a Discordant System also.
I definitely req Sacrificium, Indwelling, and Immortal Souls t anyone who hasn't heard them. Lyrics are easy to ignore if it isn't your thing. |
