| My Breakup Albums
These are the albums that go on repeat after its all said and done with | 1 | | Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
This has got to be the best breakup album of all time. Just the story behind it alone is amazing, but the lyrics on this album hit so close to home with me. Many nights spent drinking wine and listening to this album | 2 | | City and Colour Sometimes
Dallas Green's voice is so amazing and his lyrics are brilliant. This album and Bright Eyes "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" got me through probly my hardest breakup a couple summers ago. | 3 | | Bright Eyes I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
As i just said, this album helped me through one of the tougher breakups. Conor Oberst has this urgency in his voice that adds so much emotion to his vocals. He is one of my favorite lyricists of all time, and on this album he's just superb. | 4 | | Sigur Ros ( )
This is a very emotional album, every song makes you feel something different. For me, the lack of lyrics plays an advantage because i can sit and think while listening to it, almost as if the music is a score for my thoughts. | 5 | | American Football American Football
Mike Kinsella writes some of the most amazing and emotional lyrics i've ever heard. Musically this album is so complex, but the lyrics and vocals are simple and to the point, and thats what makes them so effective. | |
Curse.
