Although I've not heard those last two (or if I have I don't remember it) but he's basically posted the metalcore bands who made the genre good during the first decade of it's existence. Metalcore came from hardcore so of course the earlier bands are linked to hardcore moreso than metal. It's how it should've stayed IMO.

eternium 01.24.10	There's different kinds of metalcore guys. There's the original kind that was mostly in the late '90s, such as those listed here. Basically hardcore that is heavy enough to be metal. Then there's melodic metalcore, with has melo death-like riffs and clean vocals, such as As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage. This would become popular and eventually raped to death, forming deathcore. Also there's mathcore.

Spec 01.24.10	7 Angels 7 Plagues were a great band but in my opinion, offered a more "melodic metalcore" sound. This is in no way a bad thing, I can respect bands that offer melody as well as heavyness. Life would be boring without variety and no one should ever devote themselves to one genre and one genre only. I am however tired of being reccomended Unearth over and over again by reviewers and hearing about the "wonder" that is As I Lay Dying. Sure AILD put out a decent album recently but their first "widely known" album, Frail Words Collapse offered nothing to this particular genre. It was a major influence for the Christian metalcore scene that found a new way to sell their product without the fear of objectivity. These are the bands that played the metalcore genre the way it was intended.

Spec 01.24.10	Listen to destroy the machines by earth crisis and I'm not exactly sure how visions of disorder dosn't belong on this list. If you mean by todays standards then none of these bands would be called metalcore, they would all be thought of as hardcore.
