08.02.19 | Best DAW ever hands down
The stock plug-ins are great, but I use RC20 Retro Color, Decimort, Devastor, and Fab Filter shit on almost every project. |

08.02.19 | fun fact: Ableton Live was originally developed by German techno artist Monolake |

08.02.19 | I use ableton and garageband. the stock plugins are pretty decent in ableton. 5 is good too, underrated album |

08.02.19 | Ableton is pretty incredible and easy to use. I'm happy with it. Niiiiiice, i hear lots of good things about Fab Filter. I'll definitely look into the other plugins you recommended. I been running Live 9 Standard stock plugins for 1 year now... Going through my instruments is predictable now. |

08.02.19 | Avaga - I'll have to look into the masterminds music catalog.
fox - I wish i started recording music on a computer earlier. I bought my first MacBook Pro two years ago and I got Live last year. With Sympathy is a 4/5 for me |

08.02.19 | i'm a logic user because i prefer that workflow and a lot of my uni course is centred around it. that and i think the stock effects are better in most cases. i think live is great aswell though.
in terms of plugins my go-tos are:
synths/instruments: avenger, omnisphere, phase plant, serum, spitfire labs and a good amount of maschine libraries
effects anything izotope, eventide blackhole (absolutely insane lush reverb), valhalla delay, rc-20, wavesfactory trackspacer, devious machines duck (probably the best sidechain-compression emulator there is), cableguys halftime (because gross beat is windows only), kilohearts multipass (great multiband fx host for their snapins).
that's most of my workflow off the top of my head, i have way too many plugins though that I don't utilise enough and i keep on buying more haha. i have komplete 12 and the whole package is so big i find it overwhelming to find places to start. |

08.02.19 | and yeah monolake is awesome, i highly recommend polygon cities especially |

08.02.19 | The upgrade to Ableton 10 is worth it alone for the new plugin Drum Buss. That thing is godly. Echo is amazing too |

08.02.19 | Ableton has waayyyy too much going on in it for me. I got Reaper because it's free, and because it's so customizable I just stuck with it for workflow reasons, or rather, not interested in learning a new DAW while making music.
As for stock that comes with it, for me it's mostly worthless, so if that's your big selling point, skip it. |

08.02.19 | ableton is great. looking to get serum at some point in the future |
iglu
08.02.19 | Ableton is amazing and easy to understand, I mostly use the stock plugins |

08.03.19 | Don't need Serum when you got Wavetable built into Ableton already |
Sinternet
08.03.19 | ehh wavetable is fine but serum has infinitely better modulation capabilities and the ui is just fantastic. but maybe that's just because i pretty much learned everything on serum and i know it like the back of my hand
|

08.03.19 | I was probably talking shit just now. Tbh I don't use synths enough in my projects to appreciate Serum or Massive. |
Sinternet
08.04.19 | nah i respect anyone who uses stock stuff, too many people just go out and buy plugins they don''t need to when their daw has better options built in. for example logic's compressors are second-to-none and the only third-party one ii use is bx_townhouse as it sounds super good on busses. logic's reverbs (space designer + chromaverb) are also top of the line shit, and I only buy other reverbs for different creative purposes (blackhole/any valhalla stuff really) |

08.04.19 | Serum, Massive, compressors, and reverb?? You must be a trance guy |
Sinternet
08.04.19 | haha i don't really use massive that much tbh, just never got into the ui really. i use sylenth occasionally if you want another stereotype, and i'll probably pick up nexus at some point too |

08.07.19 | I am considering upgrading to Ableton 10 so i have use of Wavetable and the that Drum Buss. I'm on Live 9 Standard so I'm still missing key FX like Operator, Sampler and Analog.
Logic is great. I know serious musicians that swear buy it. $200 is affordable
Reaper at $60 is super affordable and easy to use from what i hear.
Monolake is solid! I'm feelin it.
I'm leaning towards Sylenth right now due to the warmer tones. Analog Labs is another contender since I'm looking for warmer more vintage sounds/tones |
