01.12.16 | Nice list dude. My personal top 10 would probably be the same too, except it would be in a different order. Blackstar is missing, but I figure you haven't listen to it enough yet. 1 is 1, and it's cool to see some love for 3. I feel 7 should be higher. I have hard times to dig Hunky Dory, cos I find it's based on lyrics more than on music, and being a French speaker bla bla.... I need to revisit Scary Monsters and Diamond Dogs.
My order would be probably that: 1, 5, 2, 3, 7, 4, 6, and 10 is 10. Not sure about 8 and 9 yet.
It's sad your list is lacking of visit. I guess there are too many Bowie threads to help it. RIP David. |

01.12.16 | Decent list, not my personal ranking to even close to it, but my biggest complaint is that the list could use descriptions of each album so we know what they mean to you.
8 and wouldn't make my top 10 and 9 would be my #1, but like I said good list. |

01.12.16 | @Ars: How did you stop your list from spacing? I can't figure it out. |
e210013
01.12.16 | Thanks, Jethro.
You're right. Blackstar is missing because I haven't listen to it enough yet. Yeah, I always loved The Man Who Sold The World. I think it's an underrated album. About Aladdin Sane it's very hard to me put it before the other six.
About visit my list, I can understand that vvery few people have visited it until now. There are many things about Bowie in this moment. Perhaps, the ambient is a little bit saturated, right now, all over the world, about Bowie.
Once more, thanks for your comment dude. |

01.13.16 | Thanks, Ars.
I'm really very surprised that someone put Scary Monsters as his favourite album from Bowie. However, I've nothing against it, man. I'm
only surprised, just it.
About your complaint, I sincerely didn't remember of that. I just thought that the list was the only necessary thing to show my tastes. However, as you mention it, I can talk a little about them.
Space Oddity is a very special album to me. I bought it in the 70's, was my first purchase from Bowie and is one of my first and oldest vinyl records. The cover of the album isn't this one, here, but the cover on my avatar. I always liked more of this cover. Anyway I have also a CD copy with this new cover.
The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust... is a tremendous album and I always loved it. It represents the big mark in the career of Bowie. It's a cliche but it's the most important album in his career. Perhaps without it, it would not be the same for him.
The Man Who Sold The World, was love at the first sight. It's probably the hardest and heavy album from Bowie and I think that it's a perfect album.
Low and Heroes are practically two perfect albums and very similar in terms of quality. However, I always preferred Low. Low is one of the most innovative albums I've ever heard. Possibly because de presence of Brian Eno. I really love these albums from is Berlin trilogy.
Station To Station is another very innovative album. It's probably not to everybody. Despite doesn't belong to his Berlin trilogy it's a good pair to Low.
Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs are my second choices of Bowie. But I always preferred Hunky Dory to the others two. Anyway, I think that Aladdin Sane is much close to Hunky Dory than Diamond Dogs is.
Scary Monsters is another great album, one of is best, really, but I always had a preference for the 70's or for the more experimentals of them.
So, I hope you have liked of my justifications and thanks for your participation in my first list.
Cheers. |

01.13.16 | Thanks, Nexus for your participation. I really don't know very well The Next Day and Blackstar, yet. But I suspect that both are great albums.
Cheers. |

01.13.16 | "How did you stop your list from spacing? I can't figure it out."
Edit it and remove some of the BR/ things.
@e210013: Thanks, cool descriptions, they make the list more interesting and descriptive :) |
e210013
01.13.16 | Thanks, Twig for your participation too. As I wrote before, I have some gaps with the albums of Bowie after Let's Dance. But with the others you have also a great list. Nice to see you put two albums in the first place. Especially because Station To Station be one of them. Very nice indeed.
Cheers. |

01.13.16 | "The cover of the album isn't this one,"
I remember the original Space Oddity cover, much better than the new one. I can't imagine why they changed it. |
wham49
01.13.16 | seems about right, what else could crack the list |
DoofusWainwright
01.13.16 | Outside and Blackstar are both top 10 Bowie |
e210013
01.13.16 | Yeah Twig, I also don't know why. The original is much better, definitely. |
e210013
01.13.16 | Yeah, wham. But we mustn't forget that some of his last albums are also very good like "Heathen", "The Next Day" and "Blackstar" or even "Outside".
Thanks for your participation man. |
e210013
01.13.16 | Probably you are right Doofus. But as I wrote above, these are albums that I don't know perfectly well yet, and so, I'm not very comfortable to talk and possibility to put them in a list, in this moment.
Also thanks to you for your comment dude.
Cheers. |
DoofusWainwright
01.13.16 | No problem, you are my favourite E number.
Definitely get to know Outside, a forgotten gem. |
zakalwe
01.13.16 | Yep worker e210013 is a total dude.
The company won't like it, he has soul and will need to be 'corrected' |
DoctorJackal
01.13.16 | Hunky Dory is goat |
e210013
01.13.16 | Thanks Doofus. I really appreciate this thing about I am your favourite number. Very fun, indeed, man.
And yes, I need to check "Outside".
|
e210013
01.13.16 | I also appreciate your comment Zakalwe. I think you're right, I really have a soul. And I hope that nobody "correct" my soul.
Thanks man. |
e210013
01.13.16 | Agreed Doctor. Thanks for your participation. |
Spacesh1p
01.13.16 | I would definitely put Man Who Sold the World in my top 10, could be my favorite in fact, depending on the day. |
TwigTW
01.13.16 | Listening to The Man Who Sold the World now (haven't listened in years). Not my top 10, but it's much better than I remember it. |
e210013
01.13.16 | Yeah Spacesh, I know what you mean. It's really a great album. As I said before, an underrated album of Bowie. I appreciate that another person love it also as I love too.
Thanks for your comment man. |
e210013
01.13.16 | You can bet Twig. It's really great. If you continue listening to it some more times, you probably may put it in your list. Ah!; Ah!; Ah! |
Spacesh1p
01.13.16 | Yeah I'm drawn a bit more to the heavier sound he has on that record. Plus the opener and title track are two of his greatest, in my opinion. Not in terms of the groundbreaking, genre shattering kinds of things he got into later in his career, but simply in terms of top quality rock songs. |
DoofusWainwright
01.13.16 | I just spun 3 on the way home...
1. 3/5
2. 3/5

9. 2/5
Mothball rock but it's Bowie so I still love it's awfulness |
TwigTW
01.13.16 | @Doofus:Have you heard the live version of TMWSTW from the Outside tour? No more mothballs!

3- Scary Monsters...
4 - Low
5 - The Man Who Sold The World
6 - Heroes
7 - Station To Station
8 - Aladdin sane
9 - Diamond Dogs
10 - Outside |
e210013
01.13.16 | Yeah, I agree with you Spacesh. What I really like in the album is its energy. It really rocks very hard man. In reality, this is a very simple album and not as artistic and creative as many of his future albums are. |
e210013
01.13.16 | Thanks TheIntruder for your participation. Which is most interesting are the diverse tastes that the Bowie's fans have. Many of this albums can be put as the nº 1. This is really impressive. No wonder that the man continue be so great. He is really a true artist. One of the most innovative and importants in the music of the XX century. Amazing.
Cheers dude. |
e210013
01.13.16 | My newest son show me right now the personal homage to Bowie of the keyboardist of Dream Theater, Jordan Rudess. His homage was made with Space Oddity. It's very beautiful and touching to listen to the music only played in the classical piano. I'm going to put here the link of it.

Enjoy it. |
wham49
01.13.16 | your right, I haven't checked any Bowie from the last 15 years prob. So maybe I have to, to get a true perspective on his work |
e210013
01.14.16 | Yeah wham, do that and you will not be sorry, man. |
vonseux
10.10.18 | Very solid list. I would drop off Space Oddity (despite of the title track) and include Heathen. |
e210013
10.10.18 | Thanks, vonseux. |
gg901goody
11.04.22 | Scary Monsters with Fripp on guitar should be higher personally |
