@Xenophanes the EP was way better than the album that came out after it. I don't like Parallax II all that much but the following album was quite the grower on me.

I hope they continue to go in the direction they did with Coma Ecliptic, I fell off for a couple years due to the parallaxes but got back into them heavily the past 5 months

Sumerian posted the lengths of each track on their site:
1. Condemned to the Gallows (6:35)
2. House Organ (3:41)
3. Yellow Eyes (8:45)
4. Millions (4:43)
5. Gold Distance (1:02)
6. Blot (10:27)

Fucking hell why isn't that tour coming to Europe The support acts do show that the record will probably be way more prog rock than the technical prog metal we are used to from these guys. I guess more of a continuation of the last release

If each half album is the length of a regular full album, then yes.

At least with Parallax, you didnt need to buy the EP in order to fully understand Parallax II.

I hope this doesn't suck like Coma Eclipitic.

"I know of this band, but have never dived into their discography. Is there a best place to start with them?"

Colors is their magnum opus, but Alaska is potentially just as good depending on the day, your mood, and the alignment of the stars. The Silent Circus and the self-titled are also really great if you prefer a more raw death metal experience from the guys. There are stand out tracks littered all over those 4 LPs.

Atleast the production is a lil better, but for some reason Tommy's vocals sound weak on this and past release. They are again too loud in the mix, but atleast the guitars are louder too. Song is heavy, not sure if I like it yet

Bootface
January 19th 2018

The new song is cool - Condemned to the Gallows. It's definitely heavy, so I wonder if that will be the tone for the album. Parts of it sound like standard BTBAM fare (saying that as a big fan) so while the song is good, it's not necessarily hyping me up for the album. Maybe it's a grower and not a shower. Tommy's growls sound strained though, like his voice is blowing out or he had a bad cough when they recorded it. The difference isn't huge, maybe I'm imagining it.

Eons
January 19th 2018
3770 Comments

They should get a guy that can growl and like convincingly scream. Like a lower voiced guy, and keep Tommy to do cleans. That'd make the band like way better imo

swipenet
January 19th 2018
3355 Comments

Tommy's got too much pride to let that happen most likely, but yeah there are certainly better options out there.
