This one is pretty damn awesome.
| |
I miss when metalcore was derivative of metal and not Now That's What I Call Music 1000
| |
Thanks grandpa
| |
Album's shaping up to be pretty solid!
| |
I'm pretty down for this song, the poppy edge is growing on me and I usually hate that shit. I think its cause TDWP doesn't pull punches on the heavy as evident with ZII. Maybe I'm biased though, love this band.
| |
Jeremy comes off so monotonous
| |
leather jacket arms crossed, metalcore, pop influence, 'tiiiiiiime'
its really bad
| |
Worst single so far by a lot.
| |
yeah this is dogshit
| |
giving this three stars on RYM to signify that I've listened to it
| |
Who gave theater kids a distortion pedal
| |
yeah that chorus is cringe
| |
lightning
| |
Really fun track! Looking forward to the whole album!
| |
Yeah I 100% will not like this album based on the two singles. They're not bad but they don't do anything particularly exciting. I haven't gotten into anything TDWP has done since the Zombie EP.
| |
There is actually four singles already out (Sacrifice, Watchtower, Salt and Time). It's shaping up to be an interesting album, curious to see how it turns out.
| |
Damn, I only knew about Salt and Time. I'm hating this trend of bands releasing 4 or 5 singles before their albums drop. I know times are different with streaming and all but it kills a lot of the hype for an album release when you've already heard half of it prior to the release.
| |
I’ve been struck by the lightning
I’ve vanished, gone with a glacier
Cause it’s the opposites that I can’t accept
This collision certain death
| |
I absolutely hate when Mike does that half assed talking shit instead of screaming his lungs out, and Jeremy just sucks now, dude is monotonous as hell and sounds bored out of his mind. Wack song overall
| |
Song is phenom yeah
| |
I think it's decent
| |
Would rather Jeremy sound like this than "Louder Than Thunder" autotune trash.
| |
This sounds drastically different from the band that made Zombie EP……
| |
Yeah Jeremy’s change has been the best thing to happen to this band
| |
anything on Roots stomps this agreed
| |
Hell yeah. Three for four on the singles. Probably an awesome album. I’m so glad they became such a great band after getting popular with really bad albums.
| |
Damn, I was gonna put this article up with "it's time for new tdwp" cuz its the only fun thing I got from this. Oh well.
Probably not just the worst single they've had but one of the most mundane songs they've written period. Even The Act was better.
| |
It's called Time because this band hasn't been relevant in over ten years
| |
Dang guess I'm the only one who liked this song lol
| |
Hahahaha got em
| |
Nah this song rules. I can agree that Roots is better than this but this is still shaping up to be a damn good record
| |
"Dang guess I'm the only one who liked this song lol"
I think it'll grow on me. My opinion was influenced by the shitty music video
| |
"I miss when metalcore was derivative of metal and not Now That's What I Call Music 1000"
there is still some great metalcore out there but sadly these days it's way more few and far between. These guys are definitely the more generic part of the bunch. Jesus, this song was awful by the way.
| |
^ I'm pretty sure the genre has reached it's compositional boundaries by now. Truth is 95% of groove and melodies in the genre have been done to death. For a genre like this that needs to bond with the audience on a very personal, genuine level, most of it sounds way too formulaic and low information packed. That's why i tend to linger on the more hardcore side of things, coz atleast there's some experimenting with different tones and timbre.
| |
this mid af
| |
A very catchy hook to an otherwise alright song.
| |
Dat chorus bumps
| |
treb did you really expect that joke to land
| |
It represents how bad this song is
| |
That chorus is some one direction bs
| |
TDWP 🤝 Turnover: Still making music to collect a paycheck even though they suck gigantic ass
| |
Too much chorus. Literally intro chorus, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, breakdown, outro chorus with very little variation in between. "It's a no from me."
| |
I liked The Act and I liked this single so I bet this will be pretty good
| |
i found this catchy for the first half. by the second half i was over it. the talking also isn't my fave like steak said
| |
"I’m so glad they became such a great band after getting popular with really bad albums."
lol I'm just now reading this take
yikes
| |
🤣🤣🤣 it's what they say themselves cormano!! 🤣🤣
| |
I'm convinced that anyone shitting on this song are just edgelord "metalheads" who only care if a song is br00tal. It's fine to not like the poppier sound or mike and jeremy's voice, but if you think this song is bad/generic, you're insane. No other metalcore band is doing it like TDPW right now.
| |
damn I can’t argue with that
| |
lmao
| |
It's pretty bad, and I really don't care how heavy it is or isn't. This is just lacking anything attention grabbing. I've listened to it a few times and still can't remember a thing about it.
| |
I got over br00tal shit when I was 16. I don't need it to be super heavy, I just want something good and this is almost too mid.
| |
Yeah I love this band and most of their material but this is pretty mediocre. Hopefully the rest of the album is higher quality
| |
i take back my previous comment, kind of. the mike talking thing has never been my favorite, but i dig the music and jeremy's chill style.
both singles are very catchy as all have said. no shame..
| |
I've liked all of the singles, but this is my least favorite. Still not bad. I'm excited to see what the rest of the album sounds like.
| |
They’ve fallen off hard last two songs.
| |
"🤣🤣🤣 it's what they say themselves cormano!! 🤣🤣"
is this recent? wouldnt be surprised, its kinda disheartening how much mike pretty much disowns and shits on anything before dead throne
he's right about plagues tho that one is indeed their worst
| |
Plagues is miles better than Dear Love though
| |
I would say most things in life are better than Dear Love
| |
Dear Love is actually fun core and isn't overproduced af and redundant like plagues is, also Rosemary is a top 5 prada song
| |
Dear Love is garbage
| |
Gun to my head I probably couldn't tell you which album a song was off of on their first two. They were fun but idk if I'd call either of them good.
| |
Dear Love is cringe core
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5H4S6NjeJE
this explains why this band is the way they are
| |
Dear Love might be cringe and garbage but dammit I love that album.
| |
@Mort.
They picked some great albums on that list though.
| |
@Light - hey at least you can admit it. Like what you like for sure more power to you!
| |
Yeah Mort most of those albums rule lol
| |
i don't get why people loved Zombie EP II, it literally felt like nothing was unique on it. Zombie 1 was all that had to be said.
Roots, Plagues, Zombie 1 are top tier for me personally.
mall metalcore, yuuuuuuh. Roots just has such groovy low end
| |
This is the first song I've heard by these guys.
Lets just say I'm mildly entertained.
| |
guys most of those albums suck i dont know what to tell you if youre still into killswitch style metalcore
| |
also flug im amazed youve somehow managed to avoid this band
you havent missed much tho tbh
| |
^ wrong
| |
This wouldn't be nearly as funny as it is if they weren't so serious.
| |
mort your flug lore is lacking. this is the type of metalcore I've always avoided until now.
| |
realised ive never looked at your ratings properly so looking now
| |
my guy why have you bothered with more than one black veil brides record
are you a masochist?
| |
I had a friend who was heavily into them and I had to listen to them all the time. :3
These days I'd probably not all rate them that low though...
| |
