3.3 great | Trey STAFF | January 22nd 16 | It's not as good as the classics or even Endgame, but it is definitely better than anything else they've done. Also, one of the more consistently good Megadeth albums ever released. I like Dave's deeper growl on this album.

2.0 poor | becomesmusical | January 22nd 16 | Solid musically, but the needless dose of thinly-veiled (no pun intended) Islamophobia and braindead Nationalism ruin it for me. Xenophobia and bigotry in general are nothing new in metal lyrics, but at least in most cases those messages are at odds with public opinion. This album, however, takes a shot at a people group that's already facing overwhelming discrimination in the Western World. Call me an SJW or whatever you want, but that's not needed right now.

3.5 great | Jared Floryan | January 21st 16 | American thrash metal wyverns Megadeth have finally gotten out of their second dork age with Dystopia, this band's latest studio album. Though the production values are a little on the overcooked side and frontman Dave Mustaine is way past his prime as a vocalist, pretty much every other aspect of the new record more or less earns a pass. Boasting vicious, adequately energetic instrumentation and serious consistency, Megadave's fifteenth full-length offering proves to be an overall pleasant surprise after the poorly-received and lackluster Super Collider album. Angel recommends: "The Threat Is Real," "Dystopia," "Death From Within," "Bullet to the Brain," and "Poisonous Shadows". Can you put a price on peace?

5.0 classic | OverkillFanBoy1980 | September 9th 18 | I honestly think this is Megadeth''s best work to date. the only thing that could make this album better is if track 5 (Bullet to the Brain) was removed from the album.r

0.0 | EvilEyez | August 4th 16 | The question on this the Discopia is can the Megadave bring the Rattleviper magic one more time as he is now
the 70 year old and also keep the metal staying alive staying alive for ever. Discopia is the brave title and political
as answer honest who would you kick out of the Discopia? Who give you the heebee beegees? The Dave
doesn't trust the man with the sand religion and ask fan to join and say with him 'I will survive and take back
the Americas'. I have no doubt that with the help of the Vix Rattlevapor the Dave could achieve the dream of
worldpiece in the Americas. Be safe

2.7 average | Erwann S. STAFF | January 30th 24 | Kinda cool riffs save an overall bloated release. I didn't look at the lyrics but given Mustaine's political agenda and the track titles, it's safe to bet on the most nuanced piece of political metal. Maybe it's better I don't look at the lyrics.

4.0 excellent | luispunisher | April 17th 22 | This is my second favourite "modern" Megadeth
album, Endgame being the first. I think this
is a return to form, while is not as intense
as Endgame, it stills has a thrash edge.
Kiko is one of the best metal guitar players
ever, so he is quite welcome. However, his
usual style is quite different (melodic power
metal) to Megadeth, yet he fits in nicely and
adds new layers to the band's sound.
Also, even if Megadeth is a classic band, this
sounds modern and fresh. In the end, this
album should satisfy old and young metalheads,
and Megadeth fans are surely going to enjoy
it. I can't wait for another album.

Bump |
3.0 good | GamamJ | January 9th 21 | Exeptional playing from Kiko and some awesomw modern ideas that breathe life into Megadeth. Kiko?s fantastic neoclassical, jazzy and latino shred combined with some djenty rhythms truly make Megadeth interesting after a long long while. Too bas the last few tracks of the album, especially Foreign Policy really ruin it a bit.

5.0 classic | davezillaMP3 | June 6th 20 | This album honestly i feel is a bit misunderstood(in terms of its lyrical content. people just really wanted to come to the worst conclusions about it. however i am not going to get political in the sound-off), i feel this album might be honestly underrated, and i will go so far to say its a thrash masterpiece

5.0 classic | Jesuslaves | November 17th 18 | Better than Endgame, better than Rust in Peace, smokes Countdown and the rest of the
90's crap that everyone else thinks is good for some reason, comes very close to matching Peace
Sells as their best album. Modern classic.
Bump |
2.5 average | Ganoncannon | February 5th 18 | Besides the cringy, InfoWars-tier lyrics that everyone has already laughed at, the music itself isn't even that good. I feel like I've already heard these riffs arranged into better songs before.
Bump |
3.0 good | thrashtica | March 17th 17 | By the numbers Megadeth, where what you expect is what you get.
Bump |
3.4 great | Voivod STAFF | October 7th 16 | Dystopia comes as unexpectedly decent in its homage to different, critically acclaimed periods of Megadeth, also due to the recruitment of really proficient associates around Dave Mustaine, especially in the second guitar. Better than all past Megadeth slumps, but inferior than their really essential stuff.
Bump |
3.5 great | EcoChocolatacchi | June 4th 16 | I mean, maybe their songwriting has deteriorated, maybe we as fans and would-be fans have grown tired of Mustaine & Company, but what we have here is one of the few legacy acts still able to kick the listeners ass. People complaining about politics sound like the same neo-cons who'd critique them message of Rust and Piece back in the 90s. Recommended tracks - Intro, Lying in State

0.0 | former sputnik's home post-punk maester | March 25th 16 | It seems to me that bands like Megadeth and such (ones that are insanely old now) should just pack it up and stop making music. Enjoy being legends of the genre while you still can, before you destroy it with another album like this. It's obvious that you're already tired and out of breath. If you just leave the biz, we won't judge you. Don't do THIS to yourselves, guys.
Bump |
3.5 great | BRAman22 | January 28th 16 | For the first time since Endgame, Megadeth has released an album with some actually quality songs. Not all of them are good, and I think Dave should have trimmed it down a bit, but overall a vast improvement over the last two shit storms he put out.
Bump |
3.5 great | MaidenUFO | January 27th 16 | A very solid effort by Megadeth and better than its predecessor...My favorite songs here are the title track, "Fatal Illusion" and especially "Poisonous shadows", by far the best song on the album IMO.

2.5 average | ExitOnly | January 27th 16 | -------------------------------------------------------------------
Bump |
2.0 poor | EasterInTheBatcave | January 24th 16 | Surprisingly good. Megadeth's best record since Endgame. There are some legitimately great songs on here, including the title track and the instrumental "Conquer...or die!" This is also Mustaine's best vocal performance ever. However, the lyrics are often horrible ("Post-American World," "The Emperor") and, really, this doesn't break any new ground for the band.
Bump |
2.0 poor | zaruyache | January 23rd 16 | It's no secret that I have a love-hate relationship with most of Dave's discog so this rating
shouldn't be much of a surprise. Not thrashy enough, Dave's vocals sound uninspired and often
follow awkward rhythms, lulzy lyrics. The soloing is great, sure, but those brief moments can't
carry entire songs (especially since Dave doesn't write anything like Hanger 18 anymore). If you
like Dave's other junk you might dig this, but at this point Megadave is starting to sound just as
jaded as Slayer.
Bump |
3.5 great | FirstStrikeIsDeadly | January 22nd 16 | One of Megadeth's most solid albums in a while, certainly miles ahead of Pooper Collider. Kiko Loureiro's awesome guitar work adds plenty to Megadeth's sound. Maybe could've used more speed, though, but Megadeth aren't usually very fast anyway. Glad to hear Megadeth sounding this dark and heavy again.
