4.0 excellent | manosg EMERITUS | April 19th 22 | It is always a pleasant surprise realising that bands are great students of music, and Hallas is a prime example of that. Really cool seeing them adding more prog elements and not having lost a step at the same time.

4.0 excellent | Chino smoking it up! | April 18th 22 | This is their least catchy. Also their proggiest. Not necessarily bad. It gets less hard hitting but more adventurous. Probably the most retro band in activity.

3.0 good | Mitch | April 16th 22 | I like their sound, but this got a little too proggy for me. I'd probably give it a stronger rating if the songwriting was a little less self-indulgent.

3.5 great | Bedex | April 11th 22 | Yea this is without a doubt the least catchy Hallas, although their production value remains excellent. You can tell they had loads of fun making this (just listen to the keys and the soloing on 6, or the soloing on 8 which doesn't work for me I gotta say), but the the tracks often have a feel of 'mou'. They're cool, but not epic; they're fun, but not explosive. It works in places, like 2 or 6, but on the whole the album feels like a bunch of good ideas packaged in a way that make them feel like they just pass without really catching on. The album ending on a fadeout is a big no no too. 3.45

3.6 great | Erwann S. STAFF | April 11th 22 | Proggier and less prominent on hard rock, Isle of Wisdom definitely is Hallas' least catchy album. It compensates with beautiful soundscapes and production - those synths on "Stygian Depths", but maybe it's lackin' a bit of dynamism? Great stuff nonetheless.

4.5 superb | Gary STAFF | April 8th 22 | Consistency is the key: another 4.5 worthy album by the Swede adventure rockers. As they've finished telling the fantastical stories of the fictional hero, Haellas (from whom they've choosen their band name as well), a new chapter has arrived, and Isle Of Wisdom is more than a promising start for a "new era". New favourite songs: "The Inner Chamber" and "Gallivants (Of Space)".
