I have been listening to Obituary for over 3 decades, so obviously I wasn't going to let this one pass. I am happy to see that they are still true to their roots and haven't tried to "progress" like everyone else by adding clean vocals and soft instrumentals everywhere. There is nothing cutting edge here, but it works and it is quite good. In fact, this album seems better than most of their recent works. Happy to see Terry Butler on bass! Not an instant classic like Slowly We Rot or Cause of Death, but still, massive respect to Obituary.

As a long term Obi-Fan i like this really much. There's nothing new here, but it's what i expect
if i buy an Obituary Album. Mid-paced, groovy OSDM and Tardy's unique vocals. It's like a
steamroller right through your ear tunnel. BTW: Album contains their to date fastest song with
"Barely Alive"

Obituary doing some Obituary flexin' (at least from what I remember). It's meaty, groovy, and overall decent death metal that I won't come back to.

Not sure if the band are deliberately trying to crossover into the mainstream American groove metal scene or not. A good album but not a great death metal album. Fans of Machine Head and Lamb of God will probably prefer this album to seasoned Obituary and death metal fans.

Obituary does what Obituary does. Groovy mid-paced DM riffs spiced up with some nice leads. Of course John Tardy's vocals are very much acquired taste and My Will To Live is almost Six Feet Under-esque in its primitivity.

Entertaining listen but overall is this really death metal? A lot of the time, it sounds like a groove metal with Metallica and hardcore riffing. Even the vocals are not that much death metal growls. I know, but it is Orbituary, the legendary death metal band.
