Extreme III Sides to Every Story
I don't know why this album didn't "make it"... For me, it is the best album they have. The first two albums are great, powerful, heavy, and everything, but they sound very alike in a lot of songs. They had to change something (not everything), and in "III Sides" they did just that. Nuno's guitar tone is different but great, his solos and compostition are unique; Gary's vocals are better than ever; and Pat and Paul's base is as powerful as ever. Most people like Extreme for their heaviness and their fireworks, or for "More Than Words"... This albums has none of them as the others do, but it has more musicality and is better balanced.

It has a better quality sound and video than "Live in Amsterdam", and they play all of their best songs, but Alter Bridge play too fast when they're live, and Myles has a great voice and can hit all the notes perfectly, but sometimes he starts talking or making sounds in the middle of the melody (but I know that singing is exhausting, though), which I don't exactly love.

Amazing. Greg Howe at his best (even when it is not a shred album); Kevin (bass), and Gianluca (drums) are world class musicians; Meghan Krauss (vocals) has an AMAZING voice. She may be the best thing on the album, and that's saying a lot.

Mr. Big Mr. Big
Mr. Big Bump Ahead
In my opinion, this is one of Mr. Big's two best albums, the other being "Lean Into It". It has a lot of good, catchy songs, and it also has some of the most brutal, technical, coordinated parts in rock and metal music history. The best example of good musicality, catchy lyrics and music, and an un reachable level of technique and coordination without losing style or sound, is the album opener, "Colorado Bulldog".

It could have a better sound, but the guitar playing, the songwriting, and especially the vocals are amazing.
Scott Henderson Tore Down House
Few guys, especially guitar players, can play jazz/fussion in a very high level and play rock/blues at the same level or higher... Scott Henderson is one of them. With an vast knowledge of music, and a raw, technical bluesy/jazzy style, Henderson made an album with great songs, with room for awesome guitar playing, great singing (listen to "I Hate You"), and fun lyrics (listen to "I Hate You").

At first, I thought what everyone else seems to be thinking. I also don't like Mike Mangini compared to Portnoy (although he is more technical). But since hearing the album more times, and especially watching them live (where they sound much BETTER than any other band, progressive or not, and have improved their live production), I think it still is a great album, despite it sounding similar to past albums. Also, John Petrucci never ceases to improve guitar-wise and composition-wise. Plus, his new guitars, JM's new bass, and JR's toys make a difference when it comes to sounding good. "The Looking Glass", "Illumination Theory" and "False Awakening Suite" will be DT classics soon.
