Deftones Koi No Yokan |
Koi No Yokan basically showed me why I love Deftones so much. A band that always keeps there own melodic roots but they are not afraid to change. The album starts off with a nice heavy but chilled out groove with Swerve City. Then it switches it up to make it sound really awesome. A few melodic songs and then it gets heavy. Guitar work is awesome as always. Plus Chino Moreno's vocals are still excellent as always. My personal favorites on Koi No Yokan are Entombed, Rosemary, Swerve City, What Happened To You, Poltergeist and Graphic Nature. But all the songs are crafted wonderfully I just keep playing these songs all the time because they are so amazing. Overall if your looking for a perfect Alternative metal showcase I think you should check out Koi No Yokan. |

Metallica ...And Justice For All |
Metallica's 4th Album is still a top notch effort. It has some of my favorite songs like Live is to Die, One, And Justice for All and The Shortest Straw. The songs all have incredible meanings within them. But what cuts And Justice for All from perfection is the production. You already know the story about the hazing of bass player Jason Newsted. But barely being able to hear the bass and the shitty quality for 1988 kills it from reaching perfection. But overall Metallica's ...And Justice for All is an incredible album that all metal fans need to hear. It's a highlight in Thrash that should be recognized for it's epic songs and power within the messages used. |

Northlane Node |
What was once just a metalcore band with Prog Elements has evolved into something else. Northlane is still the metalcore band you remember. Though some really good elements have been added to make this albums stand out from the rest. New vocalist Marcus Bridge adds alot to the table. The clean vocals are now better then ever. On some previous albums they felt forced with Adrian Fitipaldes when it came to the clean vocals. Marcus makes the vocals way more interesting then before. A step up for sure with Northlane's new album. Instruments are as solid as ever. The guitars are always pounding in you're face but the chugging is at an all time low. There are more unique riffs in this one. Something that metalcore needs. The drums are powerful and the bass kicks in most of the time so you'll be able to hear the sound quite well. There is also a greater emphasis on signing rather then full blown screams. In short, That makes Northlane's progression even better and the screams are still solid overall. This does not downgrade Northlane at all if you are curious. Overall, Northlane's third studio album is a remarkable one at best. It's amazing how a band that's only been around for six years has done some really great things. The new vocals really add a spin to this band and it shows that this metalcore band will continue to evolve as time goes on. Highest recommendation overall for so far one of the best metalcore albums of 2015. |
