Aesop Rock The Impossible Kid
Aesop Rock's most accessible, most personal and catchiest album to date. Great beats, great stories, and great flow from the king of underground hip-hop.
Andrew W.K. You're Not Alone
Ariana Grande Yours Truly
One of the pop debuts this decade. Easy 9/10. Amazing voice with production that merges new and old pop and R&B sounds seamlessly.
August Burns Red Found in Far Away Places
The only band that I still listen to from when I was 13. This album is why.

I haven't had this much fun with a pop punk record in a long time. The hooks are infectious with writing that brings so much wit and humor that it'd recommend this album over and over again.

One of his best projects yet. I think if he experimented a bit more with the beats, added a few
more guest spots (Danny Brown and Jon Simmons fucking killed it) and trimmed the album down we
could get something serious amazing from him. (Btw, wtf was that last song? Jaw dropping)

Melanie Martinez Cry Baby
Pretty decent pop album. The first two tracks are great, having the creepy aesthetic I hoped was constant throughout. Unfortunately, a good chunk of this album feels too generic, not quite going all the way. Also, I understand the childish imagery is used as a juxtaposition to the adult themes but the poor writing on certain tracks can really create an uncomfortable vibe.

J. Cole K.O.D.
Jaden Smith Syre
there are a lot of problems with this album. The rhyming is amateurish, the lyrics are often nutty and tone deaf, the beats are unfocused and Jaden wears almost all of his influences on his sleeve. That being said, this is alright and definitely makes me curious for what he'll do in the future. If he really focuses, I think he could drop an amazing project (btw the four part intro BLUE is fucking phenomenal. possibly the best album intro I've heard all year).

Andy Black The Shadow Side
The Shadow Side shows promise. Andy Black has one of the most distinct and enjoyable voices in the AP music realm, yet Black Veil Brides Achilles heel has always been the cringe filled lyrics. Unfortunately this problem bleeds into Andy's first solo effect. Voice is great, production is (overall) well executed but the lyrics drag this thing WAY down.

Big Sean I Decided.
Production wise, this is Big Sean's best album to date. Unfortunately, this album still has the
corny punchlines and boring flows that make Big Sean albums tedious. When I first heard the lead
off single, Bounce Back, I was hoping Sean would finally take steps to become the rapper he's
capable of being. The end result is a forgettable, piss poor concept album that's only decent.

Better than Views (which isn't saying much) with better production and performances but the same shitty writing is all over this thing. It's only more tolerable because he actually tried with the dancehall elements (for example, I love the beat of Passionfruit. Some of my favorite Drake production). Also, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.

Cringey as hell. Some of the lyrics on this project are so painfully bad I had to take my headphones out to collect myself before continuing. Sure, it sounds alright but this kind of minimalistic is so overdone at this point that you've heard all of this before and frankly, it's been done better.
