5.0 classic
Agalloch The Mantle
A defining moment both for Agalloch and Black / Folk Metal as a whole.
Black Country, New Road Ants From Up There
"top 3 fucking worst bands on earth currently: 1. this, 2. black midi[...]" Sputnikmusic never stop Sputnikmusicking. No wonder that nobody seems to care about this site anymore.
Converge Jane Doe
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
This album would be a 5 if Chris Rock didn't exist
Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly
Doubt he'll ever top something as monumental as this.
Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city
Massive Attack Mezzanine
My Bloody Valentine Loveless
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
This is Pink Floyd's best album, and if you disagree then that's perfectly fine.
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon
Every song here is beautiful and the mixing is amazing.
Radiohead OK Computer
With a classic record like OK Computer, obviously there will be a bit of overrating. Does that invalidate this album in any way? No. OK Computer might not be Radiohead at their best, but it's catchy, and to add to that it's also amazing.
Radiohead In Rainbows
The Beatles Abbey Road
The Cure Disintegration
Yes Close to the Edge
One of the most pretentious, self-indulging, and brilliant albums ever, Yes' Close to the Edge is a milestone in progressive rock and more adventorous than anything Pink Floyd have done in the years following this album.

Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas
Coldplay Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
Viva la Vida is the best record Coldplay have and will ever put out. While ARoBttH might be pretty melancholic, and Parachutes might be pretty pretty, this album wins.
Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head
Daft Punk Discovery
Discovery is the one electronic album that even metal elitists enjoy, and for a good reason
Daft Punk Alive 2007
Death Symbolic
Deftones White Pony
Deftones Koi No Yokan
Dissection Storm of the Light's Bane
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory
This is their best album. Of course it is kind of cheesy, but that is to be expected in a DT record. Masterful musicianship and beautiful lyricism make this one of Prog Metal's best AOAT's.

Kanye West Late Registration
The best Kanye West album, period. Late Registration is far less bloated than TCD but still has the classic soulful production, that Kanye abandoned in future albums for more experimentational sounds.
Kanye West The College Dropout
Katatonia Brave Murder Day
Kate Bush Hounds of Love
King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
Little Simz Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
Madvillain Madvillainy
Metallica Ride the Lightning
Ride the Lightning is a milestone in Thrash Metal and Metallica's best record, due to its amazing production (which is an exceptional novelty on a Metallica album), excellent songwriting, and impressive technicality, without coming off as pretentious.
Metallica Master of Puppets
MF DOOM MM.. Food
Muse Origin of Symmetry
Muse Origin of Symmetry: XX Anniversary RemiXX
My Bloody Valentine Tremolo
My Chemical Romance The Black Parade
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
This album would be near perfect if the damn bagpipes on [untitled] were in tune at least half of the time they were playing. Every time I listen to that track, it ruins the entire atmosphere that was built up to that point. 4/5rEDIT: Yeah no lol this is clearly a 5. That out of tune bagpipe is sick.
Nine Inch Nails The Fragile

Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral

Agalloch Marrow of the Spirit
The heaviest Agalloch release to date. Hard to get accustomed to (at least for me) but very much worth the effort.
Agalloch Pale Folklore
Right from the beginning, Agalloch have always presented their fans with epic, gorgeous, and heavy music. How bold is it for a band to start their debut with an 18 minute song?
Agalloch The White
Alcest Écailles De Lune
This album would be a 5 if the quality wouldn't drop so hard after the atmospheric interlude.

Can't really mess with a lot of David Bowie's music, if I'm honest. This, however, is immaculate. Rest in peace.
Dc Talk Jesus Freak
Ya like Jesus? No? Don't worry, this record will still be amazing.
Deafheaven Sunbather
Death Human
The problem with a lot of extreme metal is that the music is often monotonous. This album takes 4 tracks before it presents a unique sound (in track 5) that isn't distortion guitars, drums, bass, and Chuck's vocals, all with a flat production. However, a lot of the tracks do hit hard.rEdit: I apologize for my bullshit opinion, this album is awesome
Death The Sound of Perseverance
Death Individual Thought Patterns
Death Grips The Money Store
Deftones Around the Fur
Deftones Saturday Night Wrist

Depeche Mode Violator

Dream Theater Images and Words
Not their best album, but a classic for sure. Especially for a sophomore album, this record is still amazing to this day. While the production may be a bit lacking (Mike Porntoy's drums sound pretty bad imo), the songwriting is great and beautiful. James Labrie shows some of his best vocal chops.
Dream Theater Awake
"Their heaviest album", before Train of Thought was released. It may not be as good as Images and Words, but it is still a classic, and one of DT's best.

A great record, although the growls are sometimes unbearable, which kind of ruins it for me. Instrumentally, the drummer is truly a powerhouse and the songs are creative. My brother gave me this album, otherwise I don't know if I would've ever discovered this band.
Haken Visions
Haken Virus
At a first listen, this is amazing. However, I don't understand why they'd split Messiah Complex into five different parts. The song seems so much more connected than e.g. Concealing Fate (TesseracT) or Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (Dream Theater), that I don't get the reason to split up a song that would be just 17 minutes long in its full length. Rating as of writing this comment: 4/5

Opeth Damnation
I don't know. I guess that, for the fact that Opeth went in a new direction for once, this album is pretty successful. But as a progressive rock album? It's not very ambitious as you would usually expect. It's also not exactly beautiful, it's rather boring for the most part. It's the same Opethian melodies that you've heard for sixty billion times, just without distortion. However, I have to admit that Windowpane is impeccable and Hope Leaves is another gorgeous song.

With BC&SL, the Mike Portnoy era of DT had ended. Five great tracks and Wither make this a very good album that Dream Theater wouldn't top for another ten years.
Dream Theater Train of Thought
This is the last amazing Dream Theater album, they still made great albums after that, but none of them will ever compare to this album, or the albums before that. This is DT at their heaviest.
Dream Theater Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
An ambitious release, that is only held back by its sheer length. Especially the tracks on the first half could've been made shorter. The Glass Prison however, is amazing.
Dream Theater Octavarium
Dream Theater Distance Over Time
Just judging by the teaser, I think we might actually get heavier and better Dream Theater album ronce again. I'm pretty confident it's gonna be better than the last album. Yes, it's not as great as In Contact and the tracks aren't as good as they were on Bloom, but Rise Radiant still holds up as a worthy entry to Caligula's Horse' mighty catalog.

At a first glance, this album may suck. What really makes it suck even more though, is that this is the same guy who made XOXO. At least the three final tracks kind of save it (and Morgellon's outro is kinda suck if I'm honest).

Singer is incredibly annoying at times, especially when he's rapping.
Sia 1000 Forms Of Fear
Skrillex Bangarang
Bangarang starts off fairly well, with the first four tracks being bangers. The last track is also pretty good, but "Right On Time" and "Kyoto" are so bad that they drag the entire EP down to being just average.

Huge disappointment. Not one track is exciting, except Corona Radiata, which is kind of an interesting track.

Alter Bridge The Last Hero
Probably Alter Bridge's biggest misstep to date. If they cut this album in half and released the weaker tracks as B-Sides, it probably would've about as good as their past efforts.

clipping. Visions of Bodies Being Burned
Dawn Of Perception The Perishing Silence
Dream Theater The Astonishing
Since Mike Portnoy's departure, DT has had a significant lack in songwriting skill, and this is most apparent on The Astonishing. Annoying skits, uninspiring musicianship, and a running time of 130(!) minutes make this one of the most disappointing DT releases, when compared to their other work.
Dream Theater Systematic Chaos
Hellhookah Endless Serpents
A monotonous, boring album, that lacks diversity and creativity. Also, the singer is annoying. rOther than that, the guitar tone is about as badass as it gets and the drums, while simple, do serve the song, which is the most important thing, as Ringo Starr has shown.
Kanye West Jesus Is King
Jesus may be King, Kanye for sure isn't anymore. What a disappointment
Linkin Park Underground 6
Nothing really interesting besides of course QWERTYrAnother live version of Breaking The Habit, really?
Linkin Park Recharged
Linkin Park Xero
If you look over the production, which is the best Linkin Park could do at the time, Xero features some solid unheard tracks like Reading My Eyes and Stick N Move, and of course the first version of Forgotten. The songs do sound kind of unfinished and the horrible production has to be taken into account. While Mark Wakefield isn't the best, he does kind of fit nicely into the whole album as a package. 5/10
Linkin Park Underground 4
This EP really has its ups and downs. The most prominent down is definitely "Standing In The Middle", which is very disappointing, since it's the only real new song on this EP.
EDIT: What the heck is a "down"?
Linkin Park LPUXIV
Linkin Park LP Underground Sixteen

Metallica Reload
Metallica, the most popular metal band of all time, present to you: Load, but worse.
Metallica St. Anger
The biggest problem with this album is that Metallica made it, and not some other band
Muse Drones
Newsboys Restart
An album that leaves me not wanting to restart it.
Periphery Icarus
Taylor Swift The Tortured Poets Department
TesseracT Perspective
This is impressively uninteresting. Thank God the changed vocalists after this again.
The Weeknd Starboy
Thirty Seconds to Mars America
Veil of Maya [id]
A lot of potential here, but the infinite chugging and blast beats get really monotonous after 10 minutes, and the sometimes embarrassing production doesn't help.

1.5 very poor
As I Lay Dying Decas
While the first half of this EP is pretty solid, with three new tracks, three covers, and a newly recorded medlely, the quality makes a hard 180? turn when it comes to the remixes. As much as I love electronic music, it just doesn't go together well with metalcore. The first remix of Confined is still bearable, the rest should have been dumped.

1.0 awful
Apecrime Affenbande
Linkin Park and Steve Aoki A Light That Never Comes Remix
The Black Eyed Peas The Beginning
None of the tracks on this album are good and most of them sound the same.
The Black Eyed Peas The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies)
Boom boom pow was one of the songs of my childhood. I really tried to like this album, but geez. Every song is just boring and some are even really annoying. Rock that body might be the only mediocre song on this album.
