I remember being uncomfortable to admit my love for this album too, but I soon grew up and recognised that I do indeed have my own taste. Rock, metal, pop, honestly who gives a fuck about genres in 2020? Get out of your mum's basement. Album is fucking fantastic, period.

Metallica Master of Puppets
Master of Puppets was the continuation and perfection of the musical evolution hinted at on Ride the Lightning. Even in their Kill 'Em All days, Metallica weren't your standard fare, meat and potatoes thrash metal affair. They acted the part, sure, and they were inspired by the NWOBHM and punk bands that birthed the genre, but Metallica were something more. Whether it be the Spanish guitar that opens the album, the instrumental Orion, the cool-down Welcome Home (Sanitarium), the haunting Thing That Should Not Be or the iconic title track, Metallica swung for the fences and knocked every ball into the stratosphere, breaking from the binding chains of thrash metal, and becoming their own thing.

Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Not only is The Marshall Mathers LP accessible, but it's incredibly diverse tonally. The sugary sample of Thank You by Dido in Stan that gives the track a very distinctive feel compared to a lot of the other cuts here, the brooding Dre beats on The Way I Am and the comedic assault on the music scene at the time, The Real Slim Shady all work together and never seem out of place. The brutally honest Marshall Mathers remains a cut that never got its deserved attention. This is Eminem at his best, and if he didn't "fall off" who knows what he could've come up with?

Metallica Ride the Lightning
Metallica ...And Justice for All
One of their best. The production gets a lot of flack, but little presence of bass aside, this album arguably has less filler than Ride The Lightning. Some of Kirk's best solos, James' best riffs and (dare I praise) Lars' most effective drumming.
MF DOOM MM.. Food
Misery Signals Of Malice and the Magnum Heart
Mobb Deep The Infamous
Modern Life Is War Witness
Morphine Cure for Pain
Morphine's instrumental formula has been explained ad nauseam, but there is something truly beautiful about how bass, sax and drums come together in perfect harmony. Mark Sandman was a mad genius with a career which was one consistent prime, but Cure for Pain was the magnum opus; one of the most devastatingly overlooked albums of all time, yet based on pure quality is a near classic.

Soundtrack (Video Game) Bloodborne (Original Soundtrack)
If I'm rating the Bloodborne soundtrack, I am abso-fucking-lutely going to include the DLC. Ludwig, The Holy Blade has, in my humble opinion, the best theme to any boss in the history of video games. Everything else ranges from great to stellar. Very close to a 5.

Undoubtedly influential on the genre, Scream Bloody Gore was the blueprint for the future of death metal. However, despite being enjoyable in places, most tracks blend into each other, feeling like one continuous track rather than a collection of songs. Scream Bloody Gore was an immature Death, with future releases rendering this album as hardly essential.

John Lennon Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins
It's literally called "Unfinished Music". Easy 1.
John Lennon Unfinished Music No.2: Life with the Lions
Unfinished Music 2: Electric Boogaloo. Feces in the form of music.
John Lennon Wedding Album
The ultimate release in a three album string
featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
"Pretentious" is a word thrown around a lot
these days, but my god, these albums fit that
label to the nth degree. You'd think an album
with the title Wedding Album would be
sugar-sweet and relatively harmless, but after
listening to this I feel like I've been beaten
and abused. Awful.
