Three simple words: I love it. Opener "Ooh La La" features a glam-rock stomp to it with a catchy hook, "Ride A White Horse" provides soaring electro impulses inspired by the disco-era, and "Number 1" deserves to reach number one, considering it's the best pop tune Goldfrapp will ever do. The duo is more sexual than ever, with tracks like "Slide In" and lyrics like "switch me on." They provide us with the best ballad since "Black Cherry," which was only an album ago, with "Time Out From The World." Almost every track here is great, including the bonus "Beautiful," which is a great treat, but you can't help feel guilty about it after listening to such great ear candy. |
