The first album to feature Bruce, and the last to feature Clive Burr- every genre has a defining band, for metal it is Maiden; Every band has a defining album, for Maiden it is Number of the beast; Every album has a Defining song, For Number of the beast, it is Hallowed be thy name. This is not just a metal album, this is THE metal album. Whenever I listen to this album, I get shivers- If you do not have this album yet, BUY IT, that's right, BUY IT WITH MONEY. Downloading this album for free will not cut it, BUY THE 1998 REMASTERED EDITION CD, it's worth 20 times its weight in saffron, yet you can buy it for somewhere in the reigion of £6-£15 (you do the conversion). Best song: Hallowed be thy name Worst song: To say there's a worst song on this album would be blasphemy.Iron Maiden Fear Of The DarkHaving recently bought this album, I have to say that I love this album already. I already had 2 IM albums before this one (Number of the Beast and Matter of Life and Death), but this is the one which I find myself singing the title track most often- there are a couple of songs which I find a little... sub-standard, but overall I have to give it a 5, because the good ones are so good that they have stuck in my mind, and I don't even remember what the bad ones sound like (despite the fact I was listening to the album just 2 hours ago) Listening to this one has been my tipping point- I have vowed to get the 11 albums that I haven't got, plus any future albums that they release- yes, I'm even going for X factor and Virtual XI, because it isn't a collection if you miss out the unpopular ones. The best tracks on the album are Fear of the Dark and Be Quick or be Dead.Lamb of God WrathThis album is a must-have for all groove/thrash metal fans, some say that they lost touch- I say balls to that. This is heavier, faster, angrier and more badass than anything they have done before- 10 years from now, LoG will be seen as the metallica of our generation, and this will be their "black album". of course, this means it's not as good as Sacrament, which is their "...and justice for all"
