And they said UROBOROS was dark and unsettling. This album is simply DEG's best album, and undoubtly one of the best release of the year.
Dirge (FR) Elysian Magnetic Fields
Heavy, very heavy, and yet catchy post-metal/atmospheric sludge. But this is a grower, and takes more than 10 listens to get into. But it is mindblowingly epic.

Lunar Aurora Andacht
You're a black metal fan and you haven't listened to this yet? Then do it RIGHT now. What an atmosphere. You're in for a hell of a ride. Spine-chilling and diverse riffs, and vocals aswell, which is itself pretty hard too find in the genre. It's very far from reptitive and you will listen to this a lot of times. It's the album that truly got me into BM. Gluck is fucking brutal yet atmospheric and with a sad tone, the first riff will get you in the mood. The middle spoken vocals on Geisterschiff will send shivers down your spine. Findling is one of the best BM tracks ever (listen to it right now, trust me). Dunkler Mann has catchy keyboards. Background vocals on Der Pakt are just pure genious. The torturous vocals and awesome keyboards on Das Ende close the album with something really epic. Each song has something special, and none of them are similar. So bad this band is so underrated, they bring such a new perspective to the genre. Already stoked for their next album.

Mindblowing. This is so close to a 5. Ignore their NS idology and just listen to this. So refreshing, melodic, melancholic, folky. Even if you don't like the genre give this a shot; you will not regret it.

After listening to all their Spencer era albums, I've came to this conclusion: takes a while to get into this one, but when it clicks, its beauty, heaviness, atmosphere and maturity will really affect you. Don't miss this one. Because it's undoubtly their best and most mature and solid release. Disambiguation > DTGL = LITSOS > other Underoath releases. Hope they will carry on with this sound.

This is not as good as Andacht. Very well done, but it lacks the speed, and the oppresing,
dark, and eerie-sounding atmosphere. I'm not saying that there isn't any atmosphere though. It's kind of different and more "cold" and "windy". It should please any Lunar Aurora and black metal fan.

Not bad. It's definetly something different than their previous album. Songs are slower,
less melodic and more atmospheric, but hey, it's too short, and there are a lot of slow
parts, which are not bad, but are a tad reptitive and too long. But, it's actually really
good, with great riffs, good atmosphere, Neige's vocals are the same (you either like them
or hate them). Bliss is really good.

Bring Me The Horizon There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It...
Listen to Crucify Me, Don't Go, It Never Ends and Blessed With A Curse. Great experimentation, lyrics, sometimes sad and emotional, and even progressive. Only these songs are worth it, and they are actually really REALLY good. The rest is really bad. Hopefully, they will follow the right path for their next album. They chose 2 of these songs for music videos, that's quite a good sign.

I am mad. I'm willing to listen to this. God forgive me for I have sinned. Interrupting Epicus Metallicus Doomicus for this. Well, it sounds less heavy, more poppy and more catchy. Just bland, and annoying. The vocals are worse and blabla. The electronics are everywhere. I MEAN EVERYWHERE. It's really hard to find some moments where there aren't any electronics. The bass, guitars and drums lines are the same in every song. Really. Remove the electronics, and every song would sound the same. They all follow the same patterns, and the lyrics are all about love, loss of love, miss of love etc.... Many (of the few) metal aspects are gone. All the choruses sound the same. Sometimes there is something new, like an acoustic part in "Crossroads", but it's damn too short (like ten seconds). In conclusion, I would say that some bands never learn. "Within My Heart" is somehow good.
