Demetori Manenjushaka ~ Nada Upasana Pundarika
For an album released in 2009 it's leaps ahead of anything that littered the stagnating "djent" scene in the years
to follow. Emotional solos and heavy riffs crash over Zun's original work and the results are nothing short of an
insane listen. If you like melodic progressive metal with a clear Meshuggah influence then this is something you'll
definitely want to listen to. There are some slightly self indulgent and cheesy speed metal moments but they're
nearly completely overshadowed by the awesome musicality found in this album.

The "metal" aspects of this album are the same ones that Mechina have been employing for a while now. Mechina aren't really one of those bands that you listen to for the riffs. The guitar work is merely there to compliment the drums which in turn compliment the orchestra. If you listen to this expecting a metal album you will be disappointed.
Mechina As Embers Turn To Dust

Listening to this is a little bit like taking a stroll in the woods.
Except you're being chased by a madman in a hockey mask brandishing a chainsaw and you're not so much strolling as you are blindly running for your life.
You look down at your hands to find they have also been replaced with chainsaws. Too shocked and horrified to look at where you're going you stumble into a lake full of alligators... and chainsaws-

wasn't so sure about this season, Exceptional Drummer 2.0-chan was best girl so i was sad when they made her leave at the end of

it's about as fun as the last ep with just as solid instrumentation but the jokes
getting pretty old and tired.

This is not the worst record I have heard these guys produce. You might say I have a softspot for them, but being realistic the musicianship really isn't that much above average. I had no idea this band still existed. I saw the video for "whore" and based on how horrible that was I decided to
give the album a whirl for shits and giggles. Musically and lyrically it is terrible but somehow where sex appeal
has failed for other bands (be they male of female fronted) it sort of works here. As stomach churning as the
lyrical choices are you feel somehow that Maria is engaging you on a more personal level than she ever has before.
There is some fun to be found here and there too as long as you're not taking it too seriously.

The covers are atrocious. It sounds as though the vocals were recorded in one take and then just slapped over the instruments. I
don't know what Danny's trying to do with his voice either. It just sounds like he's in pain. The only decent thing about this EP
is the song "Run Free" which gives me a glimmer of hope that the next album may actually be worth listening to... if it's produced
properly which, seemingly, the majority of this mess wasn't.
