System of a Down System of a Down
System of a down should have a genre of their own, since i can't really label this to anything.Something like Metal/rap/proge/with some really cheesy humor. I really like this album! Reminds me a bit of Rage against the machine's debut album in many ways:Same anti-government believes,The guitarist(Daron Malakian)is also very unique in the same way as Ratm's Tom Morello, basically similar artistic vision, and like the Ratm debut this has no fillers.
Sound quality is enjoyable, though the guitars do tend to get too crunchy at times.Serj Tankian's vocals are very special and one of the best things about the album.Daron Malakian as i mentioned before has a very unique playing style and isn't afraid to experiment new things, another highlight of the album.
Shavo Odadjian's bass skills also fit like a fist in the face with the other instruments.John Dolmayan is your average proge drummer and does his job perfectly.Pretty much the perfect debut album.Skippable tracks not included, even the bonus track is superb.Landmark of the 90's!
