Save for My Best Friend, Beverly Hills, and We Are All on Drugs, the album is actually pretty good. And the pure nerdy irony in Beverly hills is charming, if not fun at times.
Weezer Pacific Daydream
Nothing wrong with weezer going pop. Just as long as the songwriting's on point (it is) and they're actually playing their instruments (they are). This is still the same weezer you know and love, except Rivers has traded his strat with the lightning strap for a keytar and synthesizer keyboard; and it sounds fucking awesome.

Disney pop rap. I'm down. It'd be really interesting if he gets a soundtrack deal outta this
Jon Bellion Glory Sound Prep
An engaging synthesis of vocal pop, hip-hop, and rock that hits more often than it misses. Plus the lyrics aim right for the feels rather than attempting any pretension and that honesty works really well here. Plus Jon's album art is always on point. Dude's a walking disney movie.

This album is extremely top heavy, with all of the best songs (which are not coincidentally singles) being on side A. Side B is pretty cool too; just not as good.

Atmosphere The Day Before Halloween
An atmosphere album for atmosphere fans. Ant's producution is pristine as usual, and Slug's bars have more bite in them than the last few years, but the lack of energy really makes this album feel like filler.

Beach House Depression Cherry
Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill

Brian Wilson Orange Crate Art
Brian Wilson I Just Wasn't Made For These Times
Marred by some really poor performances that sound like Brian did the songs with a gun to his head and a lack of new originals really hold this album from being more than a novelty. Although it does have the best version of Love and Mercy, so it makes it all worthwhile
Brian Wilson Imagination
Chance the Rapper Acid Rap
CHVRCHES Love Is Dead
Circa Survive Violent Waves
Circa Survive On Letting Go
Basically all the worst parts of Juturna put together in a largely uninteresting package. Besides album standout "The difference between medicine and poison is the dose", (which is one of the best songs that Circa have ever done) the rest is trash.
Coldplay Ghost Stories
Coldplay A Head Full of Dreams

Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows D.R.U.G.S.
This album was awesome, but it did not age well. The songs may be catchy, but their inherent catchiness reduces their longevity a disproportionate amount. sad really

Overlong and very repetitive. Cut the bad and subpar tracks out of this and you got yourself a solid album. Everything that sounds like old NBHD is boring as fuck and shouldn't have made the cut. some solid tracks herd though.
The Smashing Pumpkins Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1
If the whole album is anything like the singles we might be getting Mellon Collie era SP back. r[Edit] We aren't. It's homogeneous as fuck. just like the last two pumpkins albums.

Edit: With lousy songwriting, a poor attempt at political anger that simply comes off like bratty teenagers prevents this album from being any less than awful. What this band tried to do was successfully done by literally every other punk band at the time. Besides, the band members are all straight up lousy human beings who could barely play their instruments at the time.
