Rappers tend to learn the wrong things from their predecessors - Wayne was good because he brought
energy to his verses, not because he used a ton of similes. Jay-Z was good because he created
great hit songs and made great rapping sound easy, not because he doesn't write. Now we finally
have the post-Lil B era of hip hop - rappers aren't learning that he was great because he rapped
from his heart and made unique sounds, they are learning they don't have to try any more at even
the basics. Lil Yachty makes ILoveMakonnen sound like a Hall of Fame type artist.
I mean, Original? listen to more rap music dudes.

There are a few good songs on here, such as "One Night", "Wanna Be Us", and the lullaby sound of "Minnesota". However, this project also has quite a few misses, and as much as I fuck with Lil Yachty, he is lyrically a terrible rapper.

Lil Yatchy's sassiness combined with his sincerity, as well as the fun and catchy production, make this album way better than it has any right to be. This album is one of the only times I can listen to a Quavo song without cringing. Too bad Yatchy went corporate and dropped everything that made this album so enjoyable from this album in LB2, NTP, and LB3.

i tend to like yacthi when he's a guest, but i just don't think he works when it comes to creating a whole body of work. not that i don't like silly records but he's too indulgent and not funny enough to carry a lp from start to finish. there are some dope tracks bere, but others fall short in comparison. 2.5

Entertaining and honest, Yachty is doing exactly what he wants and you can hear the passion he has for his music. Took some time to grow and on me but it's a great light-hearted mixtape.
