4.0 excellent | Pon EMERITUS | February 5th 18 | Probably my favourite album so far this year. The band throws so many ideas at each track that they should all collapse under the weight of the band's ambitions, but somehow they manage to sculpt fluid, engaging compositions from the hodgepodge of ideas. The production is perfect. Every instrument is clear (even the bass) without sounding even the slightest bit overproduced, retaining the viscera you'd expect from a black metal record. Abigor utilise their technical chops in droves while shirking ostentation--and then there's the vocals, holy shit. Hear this.
