while Teens of Denial presented the listeners with male existential problems in a bittersweet, humorous kind of way, Mitski is relentless and doesn't rely on subtlety in her delivery detailing a slowly failing relationship. i mean, while both records aren't really that original in the theme aspect, Puberty 2 is a unique addition to my already large sad bastard music dominated with white males crying about their ex-girlfriend / never touch a vagina stories.
