tasty
| |
ehhhhhh, it's ok. something sounds weird about it
| |
Alright track. the guitars get a little lost in the mix everytime the vocals kick in during the first half of the song. strong finish tho
| |
i always think there's a really good writer behind this band, they move into and out of their melodic sections so easily, much more subtle than most metalcore groups
this song ain't exactly overshadowing The Trees are Dead in my mind though
| |
Fucking amazing. Seriously... can these guys do no wrong? The new singer compliments Mikee nicely. I didn't know what to make of him when I saw them on tour but he's done a great job contributing to this song.
| |
Why in the fuck did they lose Justin Hill? He was like the most distinctive part of the whole band. New guy's alright I guess. He needs to get buried more in the mix.
| |
New guy is ok, but he ain't no Hill that's for sure.
Overall, the song is perfectly fine but it's weak compared to everything that came before it including the recent EP. I do like the machine-like drums and bass in the intro and outro though.
| |
these guys should probably stop sometime soon
| |
Justin Hill stepped out because he wanted to focus on his production career more and felt he couldn't allocate the time to the band anymore
I have to get used to joe rosser but I'm liking this
| |
This band is at their best when they use melody as a counterpoint to a mainly dissonant and heavy base. This song is like opposite that and it just doesn't do much for me. Riffs towards the end are cool though
| |
Instrumentally kind of lacking and the vocals feel mixed in pretty haphazardly. That aside it's a decent song
| |
I kinda like it. It doesn't compare to anything on Opacities/DOADD tho
| |
at least the cleans aren't as glossy as on Opacities
| |
Great, just when I found a distinctive vocalist, he is replaced. Don't hear much difference though, probably because there is also Mikee. Song is great. Opacities ruled and I hope this will do, too. Towards the end it's really good.
| |
I'm really enjoying how this song doesn't let up. Yeah, Sikth are really good at blending melody with dissonance but this song is just a snapshot of the album. To me it just reinforces how strong of a band these guys are and how energetic this album is going to be. They don't seem to run out of steam.
| |
pretty good
| |
Meh, not feeling the new singer at all. Justin Hill was a beast. Instrumentally it's a sick song but the vocals kill it for me.
| |
The vocals sound fine to me.
Awesome song.
| |
noticeably worse than all of their other material
| |
gotta get used to a world without justin first
| |
doesn't change the boring songwriting
| |
dude i'll change your face if you don't shut up
| |
Not sure about this one. The singing style doesn't really complement the serious lyrics
| |
Spec I could probably use an adjustment.
| |
that sucked lmao
| |
same tbh
| |
@KILL do you fuck with Death of A Dead Day?
| |
The vox suck
| |
guessing that means do i dig it and yea kinda not rly i never dug the vox but some cool music shit and fuck
| |
the bass sounds amazing at least.
| |
The lyrics video doesn't help the song at all. Something like "waiting for rain, waiting for rainfall" looks completely ridiculous when it's underlined the way it is, with an aggressive font that follows the pronounciation of the words and raindrops.
| |
their early stuff was pretty sweet but the last EP and this song do nothing for me
| |
noticeably worse than all of their other material
[2]
| |
KILL, wth would u know about music shit/fuck
| |
Gonna check this after work
| |
this band existing with a new singer is possibly the stupidest news of the year so far
| |
wow i couldnt make it past the first minute and fifteen seconds. new singer is doing everything in his power to sound exactly like their old one, and does a decent job at that (but he shouldnt even be bothering ffs) but the best part of their old singer was his lyrics and this guy is like the epitome of terrible bland metal lyrics.
| |
^this. Behind the Door's lyrics were so damn poetic, contrary to this.
| |
(though Mikee wrote the lyrics to that one)
| |
Awh. People are leaving bands a lot nowadays.
| |
This sounds weirdly like Blind Guardian.
| |
this was pretty bad to be honest
| |
"new singer is doing everything in his power to sound exactly like their old one, and does a decent job at that (but he shouldnt even be bothering ffs) but the best part of their old singer was his lyrics and this guy is like the epitome of terrible bland metal lyrics."
Totally agree
| |
Man, I'm not impressed with the lyrical flow, but you guys are being asses about the new singer...
| |
That was incredibly underwhelming.
| |
surprised you didn't like it malachite, its probably their most snorecore release yet
| |
It seems like lyric videos are solely utilized by metal bands with terrible lyrics. It's like my dudes, I'd u didn't make a video with them we wouldn't be able to understand half of what u are saying anyway and that's probably for the best.
| |
it is because these are the kinds of people who are verbally confident in their writing skills, something not many great writers boast about. you can practically hear the singer rattling lines off to the largely uninterested band who just wants him to finish his take.
lyrics are bound to be especially bad when it is this kind of lyrics video too, AE compositing messes of flashy transitions and ridiculous filters.
| |
I would've laughed at this except I love sikTh so much it just made me really sad
| |
Opacities kind of prepared me for the worst tbh and here we have it: the worst
| |
are we 100% sure they didn't upload a song from one of snide's EPs to youtube by mistake?
| |
Opacities was great wtf
| |
this is not good
| |
this guy is in aliases too and i felt their new album was way too much of him and not enough instrumentation
| |
Yep, not even close to their older stuff. Guess I'm off this band now.
| |
OH NO! The new vocalist is terrible. The song itself doesn't get good until the end. This kills all momentum they had headed out of opacities. It really bums me out too because that EP was amazing.
| |
@Wayfarer1991 so... one song turns you off from a band that has consistently put out solid material? Seems a little extreme man.
@nonapplicable he does have a couple awkward moments on this song but I think he's doing a good job keeping up. Justin and Mikee played off each other so naturally but we'll see what the rest of the album holds. I do agree, Opacities was amazing.
| |
@beyondcosby
Pardon the hyperbole. Obviously I will give the full record a spin, but this song does not bode well at all. I should have mentioned that I also found their previous EP very mediocre. Anyway, I ought to be more careful how I phrase my comments.
| |
lol all good man. Didn't mean to make it seem like I was razing you. What did you dislike about Opacities?
| |
''Justin and Mikee played off each other so naturally''
Happy Valentine's day, then, I guess.
| |
This is actually awesome.
| |
After waiting so long for Opacities and assuming the band was dead, I'm not going to sweat a new vocalist.
| |
