Frigid & Spellbound is so good that this album would deserve a 4.5 for it alone

This is pretty great. No bullshit, straight to the point and actually kind of fun. One of my fav BM releases so far this year.

After 5 or so streams, I am beginning to really dig this. r"Mausoleal Drift" is the stand out track. The closing track could have really bumped this up to a 4.5 but it did not. rI definitely don't feel that it is too short, as someone above said; if it were too be longer they would need more doomy parts, imo, or more acoustic interlude sections. This ALMOST gets too same-y repetitive because of how much they rely on tremolo picking but I do think, overall, this is excellent. And if there is one guitar sound I like the most right now, it's tremolo picking, so I am happy to hear it constantly. rMy fav black metal from this year, however, is still Fauth - II. It just makes me FEEL more, and the production is top-notch.

This is absolutely solid black metal. Reminds me a lot of Dissection at parts so I?m very down with this.

Very solid blackness. Consistently good flow, great riffs and good performance, which was sadly somewhat dull in a few aspects. First of all, the album feels waaaaaay too short (barely hit the 40 minutes runtime), so perhaps keeping a few tracks running longer could have been more effective delivering the desired effect. Additionaly, these 6 songs were way to similar to each other, and I cannot name any pinnacle from the album since it mostly "just flew by". Even though I greatly enjoyed the riffs and the production, this didn't really hook me as I hoped for.
