0.0 | JoylessBastard | June 16th 23 | This fucking rules. First track sounds like Tool, there's some Voivod in there and just general thrashy goodness elsewhere.

4.5 superb | Gibleson | June 16th 23 | Pretty much the perfect cocktail of Infest the Rats' Nest and Ice Death. This album absolutely RIPS.

4.0 excellent | StrizzMatik | June 23rd 23 | Kinda funny that a non-thrash / metal band has put out two of the best metal records of the last ten years, isn't it? KG aren't rewriting any books with what they're doing here - it's basically thrash metal with a big nod to Tool, Metallica and Voivod - but the execution and songwriting is just so immaculate, it's almost funny how effortlessly they do it. Everything they did on Infest The Rat's Nest is turned up to 11 here, with dizzying meter and time changes and confident, badass riffs that never let up. "Supercell" and "Dragon" absolutely destroy, as does drummer Michael Cavanaugh throughout the record - seriously, the guy's a machine and world-class drummer. May well be KG's best record overall, imo.

4.0 excellent | ShapeOfJizzToCum | June 16th 23 | Admittedly never listened to these guys outside of a few tracks and finally just made the jump today when my coworker was telling me about this album, wound up enjoying it quite a bit, was surprised by the Tool influence in the guitar tone and some of the riffing but it's well utilized and welcome here.rSome great subtle spice in the instrumentation, vocals are a little Matt Pike worship for me but they work well enough with the music.

3.0 good | Momemik | June 16th 23 | Sort of entertaining and better than some of the most recent releases. However this is a mixed back with some stinkers (Gila Monster e.g.). Also this album is not doing anything super interesting even if it's mostly entertaining and listenable.

4.5 superb | I dont trust any user without a hip hop 5 | June 10th 23 | Got to hear this album in person at Red Rocks 06/08 in between the day and night shows. Heaviest Gizzard album yet with all bangers. The final track is such a treat as well. Can't wait for their inevitable death metal record.

3.0 good | FrozenFirebug | July 22nd 23 | a somewhat intriguing album completely and utterly destroyed by delegating
recording, mixing, and production duties to tonedeaf nerds who should be
shoved in the locker of eternal night (it might have better acoustics)

0.0 | lz41 | June 18th 23 | The Gizz are like a massive but necessary spring clean that I keep putting off. Every now and then I get the urge to gird my loins, roll up my sleeves and tackle their overwhelming discography... and then they drop an album with a title that's five post-rock songs combined and I just can't be bothered.

4.0 excellent | Mitch | June 18th 23 | Very nice. I still like Rat's Nest more, but the boys definitely took more risks this time around, which I appreciate greatly.

3.0 good | cjbizzlebizzle | December 29th 23 | A lot of cool instrumental sections and generally the keys and guitars find their way of wandering around and sounding good in the proggier moments of the record but the vocals are just so bland, repetitive and boring. It sounds like someone emulating someone emulating what thrash metal vocals sounded like four decades ago and it detracts from what otherwise would be a great record. King Gizz's proggy psych rock records with a metal filter applied, essentially.

3.4 great | Erwann S. STAFF | June 21st 23 | Aight yet fun riffest full of those gang vocals and dynamic shifts that, as always with them, will sound infinitely better live than on wax.

4.0 excellent | Gene Gol CONTRIBUTOR | May 16th 23 | For the most part, I will align myself with the Gizz-strokers and praise this album, although I do recognise I am in a camp with people who have heard maybe four thrash songs in their life, two of which are also from KGLW.
