feel like the black metal parts are far superior quality wise to the deathcore chugs they're
frankenstein'd on to but overall a pretty cool listen

(Excuse all Grammer mistakes, I am not an English major) rListening to their whole catalog now. This LP was good but not 100% for me. Seems they switched from a more deathcore direction to a more black metal/death metal vibe. I need to give more black metal a try but as for now it's not my thing. The vocalist was very hard to understand in some parts. That might just be me but I've been listening to stuff like this for many years. Idk maybe it will grow on me

An interesting hybrid of symphonic black metal & deathcore, with the former being noticeably
better done than the latter. A few of the breakdowns, riffs & downtempo sections are pretty good,
but quite often they are fairly uninspired and are just heavy for the sake of being heavy. They
miss the mark too many times, which often lets down the epic black metal sections the precede it.
More black metal, more atmospheric passages & less deathcore please. If they could get the blend
right, there could be something epic here - at the moment it's good, but a bit too confused. They
can do it for sure - The Left Hand Path is epic.
The stupid pig squeals can just fucking do one though.

Enjoyed this at full blast. Small doses though. Will have to check out the previous material but this has a slightly raw, less polished shadow of intent feel about it.
