The Hives are still making great music. Unfortunately, this is their worst sounding album yet. It's clearly mastered way too loud which makes it painful to listen to. Not that The Hives have ever had dynamically mastered albums, but this is their worst.

11 years gone, but The Hives haven?t lost a step in their epic return; full of hard, riot making, head bangers that are contagious enough to make anyone lose control of all body movement.

The Hives do not take themselves seriously and their sogns reflect that. Analysing their lyrics as if they were statements would have been a fool's errand. Just turning your head off and vibing to the music, no thoughts in your brain, that's the way to go.

Never been huge into The Hives (more so never had a chance to really listen to them closely) but I like this a lot. Not much else to it, just really solid stuff with the particular highlights being the more ambitious cuts like "What Did I Ever Do To You" (in all of it's "Do I Wanna Know" glory). The Bomb is frantic as hell and a mind teistingly fun ride.
